I’m Shaolin Spocker, and I’ve been skating with the Rose City Rollers since July 2010. I made it into the Fresh Meat training program at their mid-December tryout, and began training there in January 2011. I stuck it out on Fresh Meat until October 2011, when I sprained the hell out of my ankle, and couldn’t do any exercise on it for 2 1/2 months. There wasn’t much choice but to step down, at that point.
After lots of rest, rehab, and frustration, however, I got back on skates in January 2012, and clawed my way back onto Fresh Meat in February 2012. After kicking it in the Home Team draft pool for a while, I was drafted to the High Rollers (a.k.a. the best team EVAR) in November 2012. I’ve had a lot of struggles, and I still have a lot to learn, but I’m enjoying the ride, even when I’m not entirely sure where it’ll take me.
When I’m not strapping wheels to my feet, I work as a graphic and web designer and professional photographer in Portland, Oregon. I also know kung fu and have probably been to more Star Trek conventions than you.
